Google has been very bad at usability,
always, starting with Google Plus, Gmail, Calendar
Google's acquisitions are somehow better Android, Youtube etc.
On a trade fair in Munich I said to the Google engineers, why does Google lack so much usability?%uFEFF 
Why is Google Plus working so badly it looks like a 5 year old could do better than that when it comes to designing an intuitive product, there was a long silence and then everybody in the seminar  was laughing like crazy because they knew, it's just true. Just look at the tiny back button in Gmail, it's almost hidden colorless. Small details that drive me crazy...
